Are video games art? The debate has been raging on for as long as I can remember. Many have said that video games are not art. That games contain art but are not themselves art. If video games are not art are movies? Is a collage art? For me the answer is a simple yes! Video games are indeed art. Not all of the games on this list are what I consider to be “high art” but many of them are! Games like Bioshock Infinite, Control, and Alice: Madness Returns stand as a testament to video games artistic value. Games like Borderlands are just plain fun! A side note, I’ve combined sequels if they both deserve a spot on my list and gave no mention to them if I feel they did not. If I missed your favorite game please comment below.
