My Favorite Podcasts of 2019

I listen to a lot of podcasts while I’m drawing and playing video games. Here is a list of my go to podcasts of 2019. If your favorite podcast isn’t on the list please comment below!

8. Giantbomb Aftermath – Site: giantbomb.com

The Giantbomb Aftermath podcast is basically the aftershow for the Giant Bombcast (also on this list). Join two of my favorite internet personalities, Jeff Gerstmann and Ben Pack, as they answer the hottest questions from viewers like you! Knife or bat? Pie or Cake? Is a hotdog a sandwich? Find out for yourself.

7. RT Podcast – Site: youtube.com or roosterteeth.com

Gus Sorola, Gavin Free, Barbara Dunkelman, and friends are always ready for Olive Garden and way too many soups! Have you ever thought to yourself “I don’t have enough puns and dumb jokes in my life”? If so, the RT podcast can fix that!

6. Gus and Eddy – Site: youtube.com

In a word that smells a little peebee jeeby… Two men, Gus Johnson and Eddy Burback, have the courage to open fan mail and lie about being in books about cheese. Become one of the “boys” today!

5. Dude Soup – Site: youtube.com or roosterteeth.com

Funhaus is one of my favorite channels on YouTube for a good laugh and terrible games. Like the MST3K of video games. They have one of the most underrated podcasts on the internet! Elyse and James Willems, Adam Kovic, and friends know a thing or two about Cats, Cyber trucks, and Psychonauts!

4. Waypoint Radio – Site: youtube.com or waypoint.zone

Video games, shows, and movies try to say they aren’t saying anything political but often saying nothing is saying something. Take a deep dive into topics like games developers unionising, giant robots, and if Kingdom Heart’s story make any sense at all. Hosted by Austin Walker and joined by Patrick Klepek, Rob Zacny, and Cado Contreras.

3. Giant Bombcast – Site: giantbomb.com

I’ve been listening to Jeff Gerstmann and Brad Shoemaker talk about the video game industry for more then a decade. They are joined by Jason Oestreicher, Jan Ochoa, and Ben Pack. If you are interested in the inner workings of the video game industry this is one of the best podcasts on the internet to listen too!

2. Friends at the Table – Site: friendsatthetable.net

Austin Walker and friends gather around the table to play tabletop RPGs and tell unique and interesting stories along the way. They have a huge back catalog at this point and I have decided to listen to it all from the beginning. A daunting task but so far I feel it’s well worth it.

1. The Giant Beastcast – Site: giantbomb.com

The Giant Beastcast is the east coast counter part to the Giant Bombcast. Hosted by Vinny “VinCo” Caravella and joined by Alex Navarro, Abby Russel, Jeff “Pinball Wizard” Bakalar, and Dan Rykert (until recently). The episode that Ron Funches guest starred in is possibly my favorite episode of a podcast ever. From haunted pinball machines to woodworking, The Beastcast often isn’t about video games at all. Listening to The Beastcast every week has been, and will continue to be, an absolute delight.
